Monthly Meeting: Be the CFO of your Business!

Be the CFO of your Business!
Monthly Meeting

July 9, 2024
 6:30pm - 8:00pm Pacific Time

CCEUs: 1.5 in Resource Development

As solo/entrepreneurs, we tend to want to be the CEO of our business. First and foremost, we want to work in our passion, with the people we choose to work with. We want to make the decisions, build our brand, and provide value to our clients. We want to build it and get them to come. Most of us don’t start our coaching business thinking to ourselves – I want to analyze cash flow and build profit and loss statements. However, according to the Small Business Administration, 29% of businesses fail because they run out of cash. A survey by CB Insights of 101 startups showed 38% of startups listed running out of cash as the reason for their failure.

For solopreneurs, I actually think poor financial management plays an even more impactful role because the FEAR that there isn’t (or won’t be) enough money drives people to stop without ever fully analyzing their current and future situation. I do a lot of financial coaching, and I also learned the hard way as the CFO of our families business the importance of financial management for small businesses.

Managing your business (and personal) finances leads to financial success for one of two reasons:
1. You see how well you are doing, calming your fear and creating even more confidence and passion for what you are doing,
or
2. You see where you need to do better and can make a plan to get your finances in order.

For many of my clients (and for myself), the scariest part is not knowing…the monster under the bed is never as scary as the monster in your head.

In our time together, we will discuss:
• What is profit?
• Simple ways budget and analyze your cash flow
• How to qualify and quantify return on investment
