Presidents Message

Virtual Lunch and Learn for Coaches

"Unlikely Grit" with Helen Horyza

CCEU Core Competency - 1.25, CCEU Resource - .25

Please join ICF Sacramento for our Virtual Lunch & Learn  (L&L) on September 23rd. Our lunch and learns engage us in a current theme for coaches, aimed at deepening our insights and rising to new challenges.  We are delighted to have Helen Horyza, President of Elevate Your Career Inc., as a guest speaker

Background: It is well established that resilience is linked to positive outcomes for individuals seeking to reach goals and live up to their potential. Grit is the vehicle for success but where does grit come from? Come learn about a change model that reveals the psychological dynamics of grit manufacturing. Uncover your own source of grit and learn how to catalyze your clients toward amazing outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the dynamics and benefits of crossroads.

  • Learn the strategic steps and strategies that allow clients to make courageous changes without taking unwarranted risk.

  • Kindle your own audacious goals.

The core purpose of a L&L is to stimulate thought and exchange of knowledge, focusing on coaching and our coaching businesses.  Please contact our Program Development Director, Kim Kristenson-Lee, kim@labyrinthleader.org, with your input on discussion ideas, topics, and follow up.

Helen Horyza is an expert in the field of career development, employee development, engagement and retention. She is an accomplished trainer, motivational speaker and executive coach. Helen holds a Master of Science degree in Career Counseling from California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) and is a professionally trained coach through Coach Training International. She is a Nationally Certified Career Counselor (NCCC) and has over 20 years of experience uncovering talent and directing it to achieve extraordinary results.

Helen is comfortable inspiring audiences large and small with her authentic, approachable style. In her keynote “Unlikely Grit” speech she describes her own story of becoming a successful business owner, utilizing a change model that she has developed. It offers practical, eye opening insights on how to maximize career potential and overcome fears.

2020 ICF Global Coaching Study & COVID-19 and the Coaching Industry

The 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study is now available!

The 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study is the largest coaching industry research study in history.  It incorporates 22,457 valid survey responses from coaches and managers and leaders who are using coaching skills in 161 countries and territories.

Because the survey closed right before COVID-19 changed the world forever, the 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study represents a new benchmark for us – the last global survey of the coaching industry conducted entirely before the dramatic changes COVID-19 has made to how we live and work.

To better understand what is, in June 2020 ICF and PwC launched COVID-19 and the Coaching Industry, a snapshot survey designed to assess the impact of the pandemic on the coaching industry worldwide.  Despite a relatively brief field period (less than one month), the survey yielded more than 10,000 responses from 140 countries and territories.  It provides a timely and accurate snapshot of how the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic impacted coaches and managers and leaders who use coaching skills.

The 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study Executive Summary and the COVID-19 and the Coaching Industry Final Report are available for free for ICF Members. The 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study Final Report is available for $95 USD for ICF Members.
