Help Shape What’s Next for ICF Sacramento

Our chapter runs on the energy and generosity of members who are passionate about making a difference — and we'd love for you to help lead that work.

We're currently seeking enthusiastic and committed members to join our Board of Directors for the 2027 term. It's a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of our coaching community, help guide our initiatives, and ensure that ICF Sacramento remains a supportive, inclusive, and innovative space for all coaches.

Serving on the board is a rewarding experience that offers not only the chance to contribute to our chapter's success but also to connect deeply with fellow members. The experience will be both fulfilling and enriching, and your contribution will help shape the future of our chapter.

If this sounds like something you'd like to explore, please click here to fill out a short interest form. We'd love to talk with you about opportunities to serve.

Coming Your Way Soon: Our Member Survey

Please keep an eye on your inbox in the next few weeks for our member survey. We really want to hear from you: the coaching topics you’d like to see more of, which member benefits matter most to you, how satisfied you’ve been with our programs and events, and what would make your experience with the chapter even better.

Your honest feedback will help guide us in making decisions for the future.

As a way of thanking you for your time, everyone who completes the survey has the opportunity to enter a drawing for a one-year Gold Membership!

October Event Spotlight

Nature-Based Coaching Experience

This Saturday, October 3 from 10:00am–11:30am PT, join us for a restorative outdoor coaching experience designed to help you slow down and experience a gentle form of coaching in nature. As coaches, we spend so much of our time holding space for others. This experience, led by Sonia Singh, PCC, is an invitation to let someone else hold a little space for you.

We’ll begin together with a brief grounding practice before heading out on a 1.6-mile silent, facilitated nature walk through the beautiful Effie Yeaw Nature Center preserve in Carmichael, a peaceful setting for reflection and renewal. After the walk, we’ll complete the experience with a closing practice. Register here.

Coach Business Builder: The Aligned Coach – Unlocking Authentic Business Growth

On Wednesday, October 7 from 12:00pm–1:00pm PT, join presenter Paul Boehnke for a Coach Business Builder session designed to address a critical gap in coaching business development: the disconnect between most “six-figure” formulas and individual coach authenticity. This session moves beyond surface-level strategies to explore the “why” behind inconsistent results, emphasizing that true business growth stems from aligning actions with personal values, energy, and intentions. Register here.

October Chapter Meeting and Lunch & Learn

Chapter Meeting: Credentialing Workshop – Mentor Coaching, Demystified

On Tuesday, October 13 from 6:30pm–8:00pm PT, join presenter Venus Tayco, PCC for our October Chapter Meeting, with a focus on understanding the new ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS).

Beginning January 1, 2027, the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization will become a requirement for coaches who mentor credential candidates. But this session is about much more than understanding a new designation. Whether you’re already mentoring coaches, considering mentor coaching as a future specialty, or simply want to understand how these changes impact your coaching journey, this practical, interactive briefing will help you navigate what’s ahead. Register here.

Lunch & Learn: Finding Your Sweet Spot – How Claiming a “True” Niche Can Make You "Essential" to You

Our October Lunch & Learn will be held Wednesday, October 21 from 12:00pm–1:00pm PT. It’s the age-old question for coaches: “Should I niche or not?” This session with presenter Tara Butler Floch, PCC will help demystify the concept of niche and help overcome common misconceptions that hold coaches back from taking the deep dive into a niched coaching practice.

In today’s ever-changing environment, claiming a niche and a sweet spot within that niche will help deepen your client experience and demonstrate that coaching is an essential ingredient in their success (not a “nice to have”). Register here.

October Connection Events

On Monday, October 12 from 11:30am–12:30pm PT, join us for a Maximize Your Membership Meeting. This is a great opportunity to learn more about your membership, meet other coaches, and ask questions. Whether you’re new to our chapter or have been a member for some time, learn more about what ICF Sacramento has to offer. Register here.

Our next in-person Coaches’ Cafe is Wednesday, October 28 from 10:00am–11:30am PT at World Travelers Coffee Roasters in El Dorado Hills. These are informal gatherings where coaches, potential coaches, and anyone interested in coaching can connect. Please let us know you’ll be attending! Register here.

A Deeper Look at the ICF Core Competencies

Our final Core Competency Series meeting of the year is Thursday, October 22 from 6:00pm–7:00pm PT. Join speaker Carmen Perry, PCC, CPC at this session designed not only to support credentialing success but to strengthen your capacity to show up with integrity, presence, and humanity in every conversation.

Rather than treating core competencies as checklists, participants will be invited to thoughtfully explore them as living practices that shape presence, relationship, and impact in their coaching. Register here.
