President's Message

Greetings ICF Sacramento Coaches and Community!

As I sit down to write this we are officially ½ way through 2023 and I thought it would be a good time to share our “report card” on how we’re doing as a chapter. Of course the primary measure is serving you, our members, so I’d love to get your feedback!

In the meantime, I’m using some guidelines that ICF Professional Coaches have shared.

•Achieve a minimum of 100 members 75% retention and at least 25 new members yearly.

Currently we’re at 121 members, with 72 renewals and 22 new this year. On track!

•Achieve/Maintain 65% of membership as credentialed

62% of our members are credentialed. Just under target.

•Deliver at least 10 hours of CCE per year (recommended is 10, required is 6)

YTD we’ve offered 17.25. Over target with plenty more CCE opportunities to come!

•Engage in at least 1 community engagement event

We’re doing great here too! During international coaching week (ICW) we had multiple events designed to engage with the community.

In addition we have the upcoming Fall Conference where we intentionally created personal development content for the greater community.

•Multiple Committees and Succession Planning

This is an area of opportunity for us. While we have a great Board of Directors, most don’t have a committee in support of them. The continued health of our chapter is reliant on more members joining in the delivery of our programs and leadership.

Overall I think you’d agree that our report card would be an “A,” but I would encourage you to reach out to me, our incoming president Lisa Laughter, or any member of the Board to share your interest and learn where we may need committee help throughout the rest of this year as well as Board positions opening up for 2024.

I hope you and yours had a wonderful 4th of July holiday and I look forward to the second half of what’s been a great year so far!

As always, continue to reach out to me at president@icfsacramento.org.  I’d love to hear from you!

Ignite Update

It’s been a few months since our last update and we’re so proud to announce that
thirty coaches from our chapter are generously donating their time to support the Ignite mission: accelerating and amplifying social system change through coaching

Our chapter has been coaching changemakers at the following social impact organizations:

Sacramento State University EdD program

Doctoral candidates committed to developing anti-racist policies, moving systems toward educational equity; and embodying social justice, radical hope, and collective possibilities.

Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program

Providers of leadership training customized to the specific challenges faced by culturally diverse leaders.

Women’s Empowerment

Educates and empowers women who are experiencing homelessness with the skills and confidence necessary to get a job, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and regain a home for themselves and their children.

3Strands Global Foundation

Envisions a world free from human trafficking. Mobilizes communities to combat human trafficking through prevention education and reintegration programs.

We are excited about what we have accomplished together!
