Presidents Message

Greetings ICF Sacramento Community!

It’s July, and here in the U.S. we just celebrated our Independence Day!  For many coaches the coaching industry has supported them in finding meaningful work and financial independence.  AND as coaches we support our clients to find independence from limiting beliefs and behaviors that may be holding them back from true fulfillment.

Here in California, we have also celebrated our independence from a variety of COVID restrictions.  This has prompted renewed discussions around moving our chapter meetings from virtual back to in-person, so stay tuned for updates as we plan for hybrid meetings as to have the best of both worlds!  We are always looking for new members to serve.  If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining our community, please direct them to our website to join.  If your membership is up for renewal, please go to your dashboard at ICFSacramento.org and renew your membership today.  You’ll see from the programming details on our events page, we have a busy month ahead of us.  We hope to ‘see’ you during these amazing events!

Enjoy your summer!

Sincerely,
Laurie Cozart
President @ ICF Sacramento

July Lunch and Learn
Wednesday, July 28 from 11:30 am - 1:15 pm PST

Come chat with our chapter's guru Coleen Chandler, PCC, CPCC, Director of Credentialing, on anything you may want to know about how to Get, Renew or Upgrade your Credential.

Coleen Chandler coaches locally and internationally with top creative professionals, entrepreneurs and artists to help them optimize their careers and artistic success.  A peak performance, life and business coach, she is also a singer-songwriter who specializes in the Performing Arts and Creativity.  Prior to coaching full time, Coleen spent 15 years in the Financial and Commercial lending industry where she honed her business skills.  She's a well rounded coach who believes that mastering Confidence and Creativity will propel anyone to new levels of excellence - professionally and personally.  She is a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

This is an informal lunch get-together, where coaches of all kinds come together and, with a focus on coaching, discuss their challenges, exchange ideas, and explore solutions.

Bring your lunch and your questions, and come ready to connect, share, listen, support and take advantage of this opportunity to learn from the experience and wisdom of your fellow coaches.

An ICF Sacramento Board member will be available to greet you.  These meeting are often facilitated by an ICF Sacramento Chapter Member.

Credentialing

Are you having difficulties navigating the rules and requirements of the ICF Global credentialing process?

Do you have questions about renewing your credential or applying for a new one?

Help is on the way.

Coleen Chandler, PCC, created the new position of Credentialing Director to help ICF Sacramento chapter members with all their credentialing questions.

A typical conversation with Coleen may center on:

  • Clarifying the validity of coaching training hours for renewal or acquisition of a new credential - depending on where and when they were obtained

  • Explaining the various requirements to apply for a credential via the three credentialing paths (ACTP, ACSTH and Portfolio). Each case is different and may require adjustments.

  • Answering questions about either renewing one’s credential or going for the next credential level

  • Providing tips and explanation about the Coaching Knowledge Assessment (CKA)

  • Going over the members’ CCE units to make sure they have the proper combination of CCEUs to qualify to renew their credential

  • What to do if a credential has expired

“My mission is to make the credentialing process simpler and more enjoyable”, says Coleen. “And I love helping ICF Sacramento members grow professionally, and gain the confidence and knowledge to move forward in their credentialing journey.”

You can reach Coleen Chandler at Director@ICFSacramento.org.
